SORBSIL® silica gel is the desiccant of choice for our customers who offer packaging solutions. The consistent quality of SORBSIL® and the fine control of particle size means that the supplied desiccant gel has an extremely consistent flow and bulk density. Critical for fixed volume, automated fill operations.
Certain international packaging specifications (e.g. DIN55473), give desiccant requirement specified in "desiccant units". A desiccant unit is defined as the quantity of desiccant that in equilibrium with air at room temperature will absorb a minimum of 3g at 20% relative humidity and 6g at 40% relative humidity. The high adsorptive properties of SORBSIL® silica gel means that only 25g of gel constitutes one desiccant unit, considerable less than other desiccant materials, such as clay. |
