SHE policy
Safety, Health & Environment Policy

We will conduct our business responsibly, with integrity and with respect for everyone affected by our operations. We recognise the importance of sustainable development and believe that our activities should generate economic benefit, maintain quality of life and respect the environment.
We are committed to continual improvement in our performance and our actions will support the belief that the prevention of all injuries, occupational illnesses, and environmental pollution is a realistic goal and consistent with our Zero Harm philosophy.
.

In particular, to deliver this policy we will::
  • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations and Responsible Care guiding principles and seek to work in co-operation with regulators.
  • Meet the commitments defined in our Safety, Health, Environment and Engineering Standards and recognise the value of standards, systems and processes.
  • Assess the risks associated with our activities and ensure that they are controlled appropriately and in a manner consistent with good practice.
  • Require every employee and those who work on our behalf, to take responsibility in preventing harm to themselves, others, and the environment, and encourage active participation in Health and Safety improvement - people are the most critical element in the success of our Health and Safety programme.
  • Expect line management to lead in Health and Safety and to deliver continual improvement against defined goals.
  • Provide appropriate Health and Safety training and information for all of our employees, and others who work with us, use our products, or operate our technologies.
  • Build long term relationships with our suppliers and contractors, choosing those who operate to standards and ethical practices compatible with our own.
  • Communicate openly on Health and Safety matters both inside and outside the business and behave as a good neighbour to the community at large.
  • Establish annual improvement plans and targets and review progress against these.
  • Investigate incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Regularly audit our activities at all levels within the organisation to evaluate work practices and to drive continual improvement.
  • Assess the risks associated with our products, and seek to ensure that those risks are properly managed throughout the supply chain in a manner consistent with good Product Stewardship practice.
  • Seek to conserve resources and minimise waste, but where waste cannot be avoided, apply the waste hierarchy to reduce its environmental impact.
  • Optimise the use of our assets in order to continuously improve utility consumption.
  • Provide professional occupational health support and arrangements to ensure the continuing wellbeing of our employees
